Hello and Warm Spring Greetings to Everyone! We are on our way to a fantastic finish for this season of the Seattle Mortgage Bankers Association with just two meetings left this spring! We are pleased to say that March's event was well attended with over 90 people registered, and that Mayor Greg Nickels' insight into our region was well-received. We were privileged to have both the Mayor and Scott Jarvis from Washington Department of Finance, update us on local economy and upcoming state regulations on lending. As always, if you have any ideas on speakers or topics you would be interested in hearing for the 2008-2009 season, we welcome your input! ...And next on the agenda: The Annual Auction, hosted by Evening Magazine's John Curley on Tuesday April 15th at the Broadmoor Golf Club! This is sure to be a sell-out event so we encourage you to register early. We are thrilled to have some exciting items up for bid this year as well as a few traditions that have come to be known as annual crowd-pleasers! The proceeds from the Auction will be utilized to fund projects such as Habitat for Humanity, the SMBA Scholarship Program, and the general operating expenses of our organization. To wrap up the season, we will be holding our prestigious Past Presidents meeting, honoring those distinguished leaders who have come before us. Mark your calendars for Tuesday, May 20th - you will be glad you did. During our off time, we invite you to participate in and/or get involved with the Annual Golf Tournament at Washington National - a day of fine tradition and great industry friends.
